Smoothing the Way is a support group dedicated to serving all homeschooling mothers. Each month a topic of specific interest to the new homeschooler is offered. Veteran homeschooling moms and guest speakers are available to inform and encourage those who have decided to take on the exciting, yet sometimes daunting, task of educating their own children.
We organize park days, Children’s Fine Arts Series, and other field trip opportunities and activities to help make your first year of homeschooling a success for parents and students!

This group is for homeschool teens. It was started so teens would have a way to get together, have fun, talk, laugh and hang out. Here are our requirements for joining:
*Must be homeschooled.

S.A.H.F.L. is a secular homeschooling group in San Antonio and the surrounding area striving to provide a tolerant place for ALL homeschoolers. There is no statement of faith to sign and everyone is welcome regardless of religion. We get together several times a month for arts and crafts, field trips, park days, chess, and basically whatever anyone feels they need. We are dedicated to having fun and spending time with other families that are open minded and dedicated to raising healthy, friendly, loving children. San Antonio Home Education Resources and Opportunities (SA-HERO)
H.E.R.O. is a non-profit organization committed to providing access to opportunities and resources for home educators of all races, religions, philosophies, and education styles for expanding and improving their home education experience. H.E.R.O. is dedicated to fostering a supportive atmosphere for home educators by raising the awareness of alternative education choices and increasing positive interactions within the San Antonio metro area community.
Currently, we are presenting homeschool information sessions to inform the public on all homeschooling options available in the San Antonio area. As part of our mission, H.E.R.O. is developing a lending library of homeschool materials and equipment. We are also seeking official 501c tax status to help support homeschool programs such as band, academic competitions, and athletics.

SA Christian Homeschoolers (S.A.C.H.)
S.A.C.H. was formed in January 2005 to provide support, activities, and encouragement to Christian homeschooling families that are training up and educating their children in the Lord. S.A.C.H. is based on the Southwest Side of San Antonio, but welcomes Christian families from the entire San Antonio and surrounding area.
Currently, we offer Park Days, Mom’s night out activities, Field Trips, Teen Activities, Monthly Newsletter, Members Only Yahoo Group, Small Lending Library, Printed Membership Directory/Handbook and Quarterly Support Meetings focusing on homeschooling topics.
Prospective Members are welcome to receive a complimentary newsletter and participate in a group activity before making a membership decision. In order to join S.A.C.H., prospective members must fill out and sign a short Membership Application and pay small dues of $5. Newsletter and application are also available for download from our website. We invite you to grow with us and look forward to fun and fellowship!

Supporting Homeschoolers In the NorthEast (S.H.I.N.E.)
SHINE is a non-profit 501c3 organization designed to provide cooperative opportunities and a support network to families educating their children at home in the Northeast San Antonio, TX area.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for encouraging homeschool families in the endeavor of faithful Christian training and education of their children in the Northeast San Antonio area through the union of like-minded families.
We currently serve families from San Antonio, Schertz, Garden Ridge, Universal City, Randolph AFB, Live Oak and surrounding areas.
Our theme verse, Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven,” exemplifies our desire to honor Christ in all we do.
SHINE is a completely volunteer group. All the leadership positions are held by moms willing to freely give of their time in various areas to support the SHINE group. The activities that we have may vary from year to year depending what the various moms volunteer to take on for that year.
