Engineering Technology Challenge

The Bexar Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers in association with the University of Texas at San Antonio is sponsoring the annual Engineering Technology Challenge. This event is FREE and open to all high school students within the San Antonio Metropolitan Area.

Our goal in sponsoring the Engineering Technology Challenge is to increase interest and enthusiasm for science and engineering in high school students. We want all high school students in the San Antonio area to have an opportunity to compete at this event, and want to supply you with all the information and support we can to help your school become involved. We hope you will join the excitement of the competition.

The Engineering Technology Challenge will be held at the University of Texas at San Antonio 1604 Campus, Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.   Details on the event schedule will be provided to contest registrants the day of the event.

This years events include:

Junkdrawer Design

Eggonaut Launch

Sumo Challenge

Schools may submit as many teams as they want, but the ETC Committee has the right to limit the number of teams if necessary. Each team must consist of two (2) to four (4) members from grades 9 through 12. However, each student may only register for one (1) event.  To register, please email the registration form by Friday, March 15, 2013.  Please submit one (1) form per team.  Teams who register after this date are not guaranteed a spot in the competition.  Late registration will be accepted until March 29, 2013.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support in this program. We are excited to be able to sponsor this annual event and hope for even greater participation in the coming years. If you have any questions, please contact Blake Wright at (210) 699-9090 or .
