Team Make-up and Eligibility
- To participate in eCYBERMISSION, a team consists of 3 or 4 students and a
Team Advisor who have all registered on the site.
- Team members do not have to be from the same school or state, but must be
from the same grade and region. To view the eCYBERMISSION regions, go to About
eCYBERMISSION, Who Can Compete.
- The Team Advisor must have an active e-mail account in order to
communicate with eCYBERMISSION Mission Control.
- Each student team member must make significant contributions to the
success of the team and be a full participant in the development of the
project.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Enrolled in either 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade at a U.S. school, a
Department of Defense (DoD) school abroad, or a U.S.-based home school.
- Dependents of U.S. citizens who are home schooled outside of the U.S. and
are in the 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade are eligible to compete.
Team Advisor Eligibility
To sponsor a team in eCYBERMISSION, a Team Advisor must:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Work with middle school children as a teacher, counselor, sports coach, or
leader of a youth organization. Parents of team members are not eligible to be
Team Advisors unless the parent also serves in an educational role.
- Have access to e-mail in order to communicate with eCYBERMISSION Mission
Control.
Mission Challenges
Teams will select a problem related to one of four Mission Challenges:
- Arts and Entertainment
- Environment
- Health and Safety
- Sports and Recreation
Teams may change their Mission Challenge during the competition until the
deadline for submitting the Mission Folder. There is no requirement to notify
eCYBERMISSION of a change in Mission Challenge. |
