I set up a tour of theFt. Sam Houston museum and talked to the person who does kids programs. She seems like a lot of fun!! It is on 18th of March at 9. She has a hands on program that she is going to do for us. She has lots of things she can pull out of their collection and show the kids and let them touch etc.. then we can tour the museum.
The museum is right at the quadrangle, so you can do the walking tour afterwards or just see the animals in the quad, the deer will come right up to you.
http://www.cs.amedd.army.mil/rlbc/ They have a great web site too
There is one thing she wanted me to be sure and be very clear about and make sure everyone was ok with, a lot of these things are real weapons, to include a demilitarized M16. She has had parents that didnt like this in the past, so she wanted me to make sure that everyone who was coming knew this and was ok with it. The swords are usable I supposed, but none of the rifles are, so its not dangerous and she does stress things like, no one should ever point a gun at you. So it will be educational on many levels.
If you are interested please RSVP to me so I can get them a count.
