Institute of Texan Cultures is dedicated to the understanding of the history and diverse cultures of Texas through exhibits, programs and publications that encourage acceptance and appreciation of our differences as well as our common humanity. Provides lesson plans for study of The Alamo http://www.texancultures.utsa.edu/alamo/teacher.htm The Tex-Kit program, produced by the University of Texas Institute of Texan Cultures at San Antonio, is an excellent example of how learning about our state’s history and culture can be a memorable experience for both children and adults. Tex-Kits incorporate a wide range of topics and include an array of touchable objects. By emphasizing audience involvement, Tex-Kits bring the heritage of Texas to life in a personal way.
