The Objective :

…to complete this course with 8-10 powerfully creative photographic compositions.

In my class, you will learn:

think about what you see and create strong photographic compositions.

learn about famous photographers/inventors/ and careers in photography.

reflect on your work and those of your fellow student.

learn about and use Gimp, a free software online, to manipulate digital images.

shoot hundreds of images for projects as well as for fun!

Materials you will need:

a notebook and pencil/pen

a camera (a point and shoot or a DSLR, preferred) extra batteries, if your camera requires them approximately twenty discs to keep your images on and to hand in for assignments a hunger to learn IF you have a laptop, bring it to class. If not, that’s fine, too.

a USB cord for your camera to my laptop

a memory card for your camera, at least 1 GB Contact Mrs. Smith, 387-5785 for more information.

Sewing Classes

I am a sewing teacher and am offering sewing classes in my home for beginners.

Classes are opening up for a ‘Monday Mom’s’ class, starting Sept. 9th from

9:15-11:15 a.m., every other week and

running through Dec. 30th.

I teach homeschoolers, as well, and will be available to begin a class as soon as I have at least four girls committed to coming.

Classes are $15 a class, for two hours and run bi-weekly for the semester. I can teach a younger student class (8-10) as well as an intermediate class (10/11-12, depending on the girl’s ability to catch on quickly) and/or teen girls, 13-18 and even mom’s are welcome.

Currently, I have Monday afternoons, Wed. afternoons, and Friday morn/afternoons open.

Please call me @: 387-5785 for more information or to discuss a class. I would love to teach a group of girls that know one another or mom’s who want to host a class for their daughters. I live in the Balcones Heights area of town, 78228.

These classes may be used as course credit for transcript purposes as well as just for the wonderful satisfaction of learning a new skill that will be useful for life!
