Gratitude Community School is seeking a part-time Kindergarten-3rd Grade teacher for the 2016-2017 school year in a team-teaching position. Our cozy school is located at St. John’s Anglican Church in Boerne. Please view our blog (gratitudeschool.blogspot.com) for more information on our unique community school.
Our program offers two classes that will serve children in K-1st and 2nd-3rd grade multi-age classrooms for the 2016-2017 school year. Our initial student population will be very small, probably 10-15 students and 2 multi-subject teachers.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s Degree and a genuine passion for teaching a developmentally-appropriate, flexible curriculum in a strongly individualized environment.
PREFER:
Experience with alternative education, collaborative teaching, project-based learning, multi-age classrooms, authentic assessment, and experience guiding children in an elementary school setting.
This is a part-time position.
Our 3 day a week program runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from September through May. Teacher hours are 8:30-2:30.
The school runs on a typical academic schedule, with a week off at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas/New Year’s, and a week of Spring Break.
Annual Compensation: $15,000-18,000, payable in 10 monthly installments.
