BYLINE: AMANDA DANGER

Big city reporter, Amanda Danger, needs some spark, a little quark to get her out of her funk. Who cares that she has a collection of Pulitzers? She wants to cover something new! What Amanda wants, Amanda gets when her editor sends her to Venice in search of the key to immortality and true love. Against a 1940s-ish backdrop, this wild adventure is packed with crazy language, unexpected cameos, a klutzy rival reporter, and a Noir style that just won’t quit. Summer Reading Camps

What I do: I help children who struggle with reading, spelling, and pronouncing the English language become proficient at it.
How I do that: By having a lot of fun in the camps—frequently changing activities: sitting still writing or reading then going outside to play learning games to reinforce the concepts.
What are the results: Doubled reading speed, confidence and failproof spelling!
For some, it just takes a bit more time and effort but I love seeing the sparkle in their eyes when they “get it”—when they understand the concept.
On a personal note, I’ve got a hubby and I have 3 wonderful children. I love reading books and enjoying the great outdoors with them. I look forward to talking with you about your child—give me a call.

Visit http://www.sanantonioreadingcamps.com/ or call/text 903-841-2787 Gina for details.

Help your child succeed with school work and gain a life-long love of reading!

We have our next Patriot Preview coming up on Saturday, April 8th and want to spread the word to all prospective Patriots. Patriot Previews are designed to give interested students and families a taste of life on campus in order to help them decide if DBU is the right place for them! While here, students will receive a campus tour, have the opportunity to meet and interact with faculty and staff, join the DBU family for a time of praise and worship, and gather important information about admissions, financial aid and campus life. It is an all-inclusive day for prospective students and their parents to experience life at DBU.

If you know someone within your homeschool organization who is looking for a school that integrates faith and learning, develops servant leaders, and transforms lives, DBU may be the school for them!

The Injustice of Roger Taney

160 years after Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney’s infamous ruling, we are still scratching our heads over what could have been. In this eLesson students will examine the case of Dred Scott v. Sanford (1857), and the injustice that was committed in the case. Students will examine the background of the case and read for themselves the controversial case. In analyzing the majority and dissenting opinions , students will come to understand the impact of injustice upon constitutional principles and civil society.
